In high school, we students experimented a lot with different drawing tools. Here are some projects we tackled:
This is a shell inspired by Georgia O’Keeffe. The assignment was to mimic her art style. I chose a shell, using charcoal and chalk for the background.
For this project, we had to choose one of our favorite animals, draw it, then fill different sections of it with a variety of patters in sharpie. Peacocks were my favorite. I colored the feather in the back for fun.
For self portrait assignments my junior year in high school, I choose to do a mixed medium, using charcoal and pastels, my first time using both. This drawing was nominated and entered into a gallery. I couldn’t come up with a name for the drawing, so my art teacher titled it, “Almost There.”
